中國·北京，2011年11月17日 – 霍尼韋爾(NYSE: HON)今日推出其的安全管理器現場設備單元模塊(Safety Manager Field Device Unit)，有助于流程制造商在其工廠內更為便捷地執行小型、獨立的安全應用程序。該模塊將霍尼韋爾廣泛應用的安全管理器(Safety Manager)平臺和通用遠程輸入\輸出(I/O)模塊(Remote Universal Safe I/O)進行整合到一個單一的，更加節省空間，且符合功能安全認證標準(IEC61508, IEC61511)，達到安全完整性三級等級認證(SIL-3)。

該小型模塊滿足了工廠對于能夠快速實施安全操作的應用程序的需求，如燃燒器和鍋爐管理系統。面對日趨嚴格的安全法規和制度標準，生產商們往往需要升級甚至更換現有的安全設備來達到新標準。因此，這一新技術的問世就具有十分重大的意義。例如，生產商可以在緊鄰鍋爐的有限空間內，將鍋爐管理系統中陳舊、不符合標準的面板替換成現場設備單元(FDU)。
