繼電器室的面板上，安裝有微機保護裝置、操作把手、保護出口壓板、指示燈（合位紅燈、分位綠燈、儲能完成黃燈）；繼電器室內，安裝有端子排、微機保護控制回路直流電源開關、微機保護工作直流電源、儲能電機工作電源開關（直流或交流）。 
2.2手車（斷路器）室 
中置柜zui常用的斷路器是VS1真空斷路器，斷路器機構內的接線通過插座與繼電器室的端子排聯接。插頭的一段與斷路器機構固定連接，另一段是一個插頭，配套的插座安裝在斷路器室的右上方，從插座引出線接至繼電器室端子排。為了搞明白二次回路，我們需要對操作過程進行一定的了解。

中置柜斷路器手車有三個位置：斷開、試驗、運行（需要注意的是，斷路器手車和斷路器是兩個概念，斷路器手車其實就是斷路器和它的座）。正常運行時，斷路器手車在運行位置，斷路器在合閘位置，二次線插頭與插座聯接；手動跳閘后，斷路器在分閘狀態、手車在運行位置；用搖把將斷路器手車搖出，至試驗位置，可以將二次插頭拔下（手車在運行位置時拔不下來）；繼續搖，手車退出斷路器室，處于斷開位置。 
斷開位置：斷路器與一次設備（母線）沒有，失去操作電源（二次插頭已經拔下），斷路器處于分閘位置； 
試驗位置：二次插頭可以插在插座上，獲得電源。斷路器可以進行合閘、分閘操作，對應指示燈亮；斷路器與一次設備沒有，可以進行各項操作，但是不會對負荷側有任何影響，所以稱為試驗位置。 
運行位置：斷路器與一次設備有，合閘后，功率從母線經斷路器傳至輸電線路。 
中置柜沒有傳統意義上隔離開關的概念，手車在試驗位置時，就相當于傳統的隔離開關斷開，即斷路器與主電路（一次母線）有了明顯斷開點。
